Privacy Policy

What We Store
Your library, reading sessions, collected words, and saved lines are kept on your device and synced to your account when you’re signed in. Signing in is optional; if you create an account with Sign in with Apple or email, we store your email address to identify your account.
Speech & Microphone
Reading sessions use Apple’s speech recognition to hear word questions and the lines you choose to save. Faria doesn’t store microphone recordings.
Definitions
When you look up a word, the word and a small amount of context from your book are sent to our definitions service so the definition fits what you’re reading. To generate the definition and its spoken audio, that request is processed on our behalf by an AI language provider and a speech provider. It is used only to produce your definition. We don’t sell your data.
Screen Time
If you connect Screen Time, comparisons are computed on your device. Faria never receives your raw app-usage data.
Membership
Faria Pro subscriptions are purchased through Apple, and Apple processes your payment. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, so RevenueCat receives purchase information such as your subscription state and an anonymous user identifier.
Third Parties
Synced data is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase. Book covers and metadata come from Open Library and Google Books. We share data with service providers only as needed to run Faria, and each one is required to protect your data with safeguards at least as protective as this policy. No third party may use your data for its own advertising, and we don’t sell it to anyone.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your synced data is kept for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account and all synced data at any time in the app under Settings, or by emailing privacy@hellofaria.com. Deleting the app removes all data stored on your device. You can withdraw permissions like the microphone, speech recognition, and Screen Time anytime in your device’s Settings.
